Top Reasons To Work With A Recruiter

Deciding to look for a new job can be a hard decision all on its own, but have you made the decision on how you will be going about finding that new job? If you haven’t already, you should consider finding a *good* recruiter who can help you with your job search. Here are some advantages to working with a recruiter:

They have access to jobs that aren’t public. Because a big part of a recruiter’s job is to network with both candidates and clients, they normally know about positions before they officially become open, or know about positions that aren’t posted on the job boards. Working with a recruiter can yield job leads that you wouldn’t have heard about otherwise.

They have relationships directly with the hiring managers. A good recruiter will work directly with the hiring manager to fill their position. This means direct access to the person making the hiring decision. More times than not, if the hiring manager is interested in your background, you’ll secure an interview much faster than if your resume is submitted through an online job board. Plus, because of the relationship between the hiring manager and the recruiter, you’ll be up-to-date on the status of the position and specific feedback about your interview.

They will give you honest feedback and guidance. Recruiters know their clients very well and they will help prepare you better for interviews. In addition, they can provide feedback on your resume, tips on how to manage your job search, and inside information on companies you’re considering.

It’s a free service to you. And, we all like free things, right? While there is no guarantee you will be placed by a recruiter, it definitely doesn’t hurt to work with one.
